Last week you looked specifically at layout design.
This week you will be looking at FORMAT and OUTER PACKAGING.
PART ONE
Research publication formats. Show a minimum of 5 examples of interesting publication formats. A publication is any printed matter: book, magazine, zine, catalog, newspaper, journal, loose cards, etc. Ideally, you bring physical examples to class. If this is not possible, show photos of your publication format examples.
PART TWO
Based on your research, design a format for your 10-page editorial. Revise your layout to work with your new format. How does your publication come together as one coherent package? How does the package compliment the contents and graphic technique?
As always you are encouraged to bring in physical materials and/or samples of intention.
WORK DUE
Post your layouts on the class blog. Be sure to post your work on the blog BEFORE class.
